James Brett interview from Russia, 2013

I am not sure that I posted this interview in Culture Critic with James Brett before the opening of his Russian exhibition last year, but it was highlighted in my inbox oto read properly so I have shared the link here.

Brett talks in this piece about many curators not getting this art: “For them, this work is not art, nor can its creators be considered artists.” He goes on to say that the Museum of Everything opposes this idea and says “Creativity is a fundamental human need and there are millions of silent voices across the globe.” The motto of this piece and of James seems to be “We know what we show is the missing link; and until everyone else knows, we’ll just keep on keeping on.”

  1. Here’s to James Brett for “keeping on keeping on.” Ours is a better world because of his efforts.

    • Hi Barbara,
I was looking at your website the other day. I wondered where you sought your self-taught artists from or whether they were artists that approached you? happy to chat via email if easier?
