‘Art as Healing’ opened today at the Bethlem Gallery, inside Royal Bethlem Hospital, Beckenham. As part of the Adamson festival, this exhibition highlights Edward Adamson’s pioneering approach to recovery and healing in the hospital environment through art. On display is a selection of the collection of over 5,000 drawings, sculptures, ceramics and works on flint created by patients at Netherne Hospital between 1946-1981.
