Outside In is open for entries

Set up in 2006, Outside In’s purpose is to showcase and give opportunity to artists who would otherwise be excluded from the cultural life of their community. Outside In has no set creative criteria, boundary in art process or limit on subject for the artists that choose to align themselves with the project.

Outside In aims to provide a platform for artists who find it difficult to access the art world either because of health issues, disability, social circumstance or art process. The Outside In: National exhibition will be held at Pallant House Gallery from 27th October 2012 to 3rd February 2013 with works having been selected from the online galleries submitted by artists on our website. The closing date for submissions is 20th July 2012. There will be further regional exhibitions in 2013 with works being selected from specific regions from the online galleries. On top of this is Outside In: London where an exhibition will be created from artists work living specifically in Greater London. This exhibition will be at Cafe Gallery Project in Southwark Park from August – September 2012.

Take a look at the website for more information:

  1. This is a wonderful website. From an artist who often is unable to be categorized. The last exhibit I got into they hung my work in the foyer…….

    • Are you putting anything forward again this year Susan? Have you created yourself a gallery on their website?

      • Which website are you referring to exactly. I looked at Pallant House and did not see a gallery site?
        Thank you.

      • I was referring to the Outside In website, which is based in Pallant House Gallery.

      • Thanks. I think that is only for artists in the UK. I will contact them but it appears to be for the UK.

      • Hello Susan

I work for Outside In and artists from outside the UK can create a page, we have a few artists from Europe and America currently on there, so this is not a problem!

      • Thanks so much.
